Canine Companions for Independence, the University of Nevada Center for Student Engagement, and the City of Reno are going to "Pack the Park" at DogFest Reno. This student and community celebration of volunteerism, civic engagement, leadership, and philanthropy makes it possible for Canine Companions to place assistance dogs with children, adults and veterans free of charge. These expertly trained assistance dogs make a profound impact through the jobs they do, including opening doors, picking up dropped items, alerting to sounds and much, much more.

Grab your friends, family and dogs and head to Dick Taylor Park in Reno, NV on September 29 for the 5th annual DogFest Reno benefiting Canine Companions for Independence. Furry friends and families are invited to join us for a day of fun, festivities, graduate speakers, dog demonstrations, music, food and more! Registration is free. Last year over 300 supporters enjoyed a great day at DogFest Reno. We really packed the park! Attendees had the chance to meet assistance dogs and puppies in training, get a smooch from a professional assistance dog, take a photo in a photo booth made by PetSmart, and learn about over 15 different UNR campus clubs.
We look forward to celebrating with our supporters, graduates, volunteers and friends again in 2018.
